Katrina

Hi. Sorry I haven't written in a while. I have been absorbed by the news footage of Hurricane Katrina. This is just so upsetting me. Today, they are bringing charges against a couple for leaving 34 elderly patients to drowned in a nursing home. The should make that couple dig all those graves by hand. I feel sorry for President Bush. He has not had an easy Presidency. But, I think for the most part, He is doing a great job.

That Cindy Sheehan sure got booted off the front pages and out of the headlines. I feel sorry for her. Her son was killed, her husband divorced her. That would make a weak person go around the bend.

Maybe next week will be happy news.

What kind of Dragon are you?

Take the quiz: "What dragon species are you? (Stunning pics)"

Lightning Dragon
With a spark of flashing light you appear, rulling over the storms and chaos. You're tempermental and can change your mood within a flash.

Lonely tonight

I am lonely tonight. I'm sitting here without a thing to do other than type on this computer. I guess I am feeling sorry for myself. I don't make friends easily and the ones I do have, have lives to lead. I thought I was invited to my best friend's 30th birthday party. She was going to have it at her parents place on the lake, but I guess since I wasn't there and she never called me, I wasn't invited. I have only been there once and didn't know the way, or I might have just drove over there. Probably a misunderstanding.
Since I don't make friends easy. Meeting a guy is ten times harder. I feel so awkward and stupid. I am ok, if the guy can carry a conversation, but if he can't, I sit there like a knot on a log. I think I am attractive. I own my own home. I am independent and don't have to rely on a man. Maybe that's my problem. I don't need a man.
Ah, well, I guess that's it for now.

Supreme Court

The President has nominated John Roberts for a Supreme Court seat. I had hoped that the President would nominate a woman for the position, but maybe he thinks Roberts will bring a fresh approach to the highest court in the land. Maybe eminent domain would have been denied instead of passed. William Rehnquist needs to step down. Does he really think that he is doing any good as sick and old as he is? There are a few more that need to leave.

Why did they fix it so that the Supreme Judges either resign or die in office? When their health or age affects their position they need to leave.

Maybe the next will be a woman.

Hurricane Dennis

Today,(Friday July 8th) My best friend and I were suppose to go to Gulf Shores, AL. But Hurricane Dennis ruined those plans. Right now, we would have been in Bubba's Seafood or Live Bait having the best time. Nope. Dennis wanted to come ashore. Last year, my aunt Faye and I along with another friend were going to Destin,FL. Hurricane Ivan decides to come ashore. I think that something is telling me to go to the mountains instead.
Maybe, in a couple of months, it will be safe to go to the beach. I feel sorry for the people who will be affected by Dennis. I hope he weakens a lot before he hits.
The people of south Alabama and Florida will be in my prayers.

Eminent Domain- What a bunch of hooey.

Have you seen the news reports on eminent domain? I cannot believe that we have 5 supreme judges that are complete morons. How many times have you drove past empty buildings and lots, and then drove past places where they are bulldozing trees in order to build some "Super Wal-Mart" or another place to shop that we don't need. Can these empty buildings not be re-vamped?
I heard on a talk show that a group is now trying to seize a supreme judge's house that voted for the eminent domain. I hope they get it.
I do not want to live in a country that is completely paved. That is why I don't live in city limits. I live in the country with the animals, the crickets, and the stars that shine all night til morning.

We need to put people in office that will support the American people and not corporate America.

London Blasts

On the news this morning, Four separate bomb blasts occurred in London. This is heartbreaking. Seeing the people brings back images of 9/11. I am praying for the London people, and hope the world is praying with me.

While I abhor the idea of our men and women dying in Iraq, this terrorist act today shows that the world needs to fight to stamp out terrorists.

I hope the G8 summit can come up with new ways to fight terror. We need to support London like they supported us during our crisis.

Hi. I'm new at this. So bear with me.

This is my first blog. I have no idea what this blogging thing is about, but everybody is doing it. The reason I started this is because of Tom Cruises' ramblings about Brooke Shields. I was so offended that I wanted every one to know my opinion of Tom Cruise.

The man is an idiot!

W
hen he can get pregnant and have a baby by himself, then he can talk about post-partum depression and anti-depressants. Just because he is on T.V. and a movie star doesn't mean that his opinion carries more weight that other peoples. He should just stick to acting and keep his opinions to himself. Same goes for those actors who have to express their opinions about politics. Just act.

Ok. If anyone reads this, let me know what you think. The subjects of this bog will vary according to moods, whims, and whatever is on the news.
See ya.
